Woolly Wolstenholme Charity Raffle Result

On the second anniversary of Woolly's passing, we are very pleased to announce that the recent charity raffle raised a grand total of £517.00, which has now been donated to the Mental Health Foundation.

The winner of the Giclée Fine Art Print, signed by all of the other John Lees' Barclay James Harvest band members, is John Maas from The Netherlands.

Our grateful thanks go to Stuart Howard for donating the print, and especially to all of you who bought raffle tickets for your generosity.

Thanks to you, the total amount donated to the Woolly Wolstenholme JustGiving page has now passed £3,000 - a great boost for the cause of helping people with mental health issues, and a fitting tribute to Woolly today.




Turn Of The Tide and Eyes Of The Universe remastered CDs

Turn Of The Tide CDEyes Of The Universe CD

A remastered CD of 1981's Turn Of The Tide album will be issued by Esoteric Recordings on 28th January, 2013. The original CD has long been out of print, and the Esoteric release, which is remastered from the original master tapes, will include the single version of "Life Is For Living" and its non-album B-side, "Shades Of B Hill" as bonus tracks, presented in a gatefold digipack with new liner notes.

On the same day, Esoteric will reissue the Eyes Of The Universe remastered CD, which has been unavailable since the Eclectic label ceased to exist. The new version includes the same bonus tracks as the previous remaster (single edits of "Sperratus", "Rock n' Roll Lady", "Capricorn" and "Play To The World"), and will be issued in a gatefold digipack with revised liner notes.



Woolly Wolstenholme Charity Raffle

15th November, 2012

A painting of Woolly, commissioned by BJH fan Stuart Howard, was presented to John at the recent JLBJH concert in Bristol. Stuart also took along a very high quality Giclée Fine Art Print of the painting, which all of the band members signed on the night, and has very kindly donated this to be raffled by us, with all proceeds going to the Mental Health Foundation charity. The print measures approximately 59 x 42cm, and will be sent to the winner of the raffle rolled in a strong cardboard tube, ready for framing.

The raffle is open from now until six p.m. UK time on the closing date of Wednesday, December 12th, and tickets cost just £1.00 each, from the BJH web site Charity Raffle page, where you can also see a picture of the print.



New German JLBJH Date

JLBJH October Concerts - Three Cancellations

It is with great regret that due to contractual and production difficulties beyond the control of the group and management, John Lees' Barclay James Harvest are unable to perform at the following concerts on the forthcoming UK tour:


To say that John, Jez, Craig and Kevin are disappointed is a huge understatement. John Lees' Barclay James Harvest will be performing the following concerts:

Full refunds for tickets bought for the Edinburgh, Wolverhampton and Norwich concerts can be obtained at source. Once again, the band extends their apologies for this unavoidable and regretful situation.

John Lees' Barclay James Harvest are very pleased to announce their first ever visit to Japan in August 2012.

Crystal Palace Garden Party cancelled

Unfortunately the Crystal Palace Garden Party scheduled for June 23rd has had to be cancelled because of structural/safety issues with the stage. Here's a message from the organisers:

It is with great disappointment that I must notify you guys that the Crystal Palace Garden Party will not now be able to go ahead.

When it was realised that a 1.5 ton scissor lift truck must come on to the stage to erect the sails and rigging some cursory tests were made to the structure.

There was some obvious weather wear to the stage and the temporary boards that were put down some time ago ... On closer examination it seemed there might be a problem

a structural engineer was called and rotten joists checked etc it was discovered the delapidation was much worse than was at first thought

Any sign off on safety or otherwise of the structure cannot be made possibly for several weeks or more...

Under other circumstances postponement to a new date would be an obvious option but due to the Olympics, no Police support can be used until after the Paralympics and after then, the park already has other events in the diary up to the end of September after which it is unfeasible to have an outdoor concert...

To me this represented an opportunity that I have been working towards for several years and have been working solidly over 5 months 7 days per week!

I can hardly put into words the frustration I feel...

JLBJH Edinburgh Date on 18th October Moved to 17th October

Mean Fiddler have informed us that due to an administrative reasons, the JLBJH concert at the HMV Picture House in Edinburgh on October 18th has had to be brought forward by a day to October 17th. All tickets purchased for the concert will still be valid for the new date. Anyone unable to attend the new date can apply for refunds at the point of sale. Mean Fiddler apologise for any inconvenience caused.

BJH on BBC TV this week!

21st March, 2012

BJH's only appearance on the BBC's Top Of The Pops, miming to a pre-recorded version of "Rock 'N' Roll Star" in March 1977, is to be re-broadcast this week. The whole of the original programme, presented by Tony Blackburn, will be shown, and the dates for your diary/PVR are:

The programme should also be available on the BBC iPlayer after the 22nd March for a week or so.




JLBJH to play Crystal Palace Garden Party

John Lees' Barclay James Harvest are pleased to announce that they will be playing the Crystal Palace Garden Party on Saturday, June 23rd, together with a great line-up including Rick Wakeman, Hawkwind, Curved Air, Strawbs and Focus. The organisers wanted a strong act to start the event to draw punters in from the beginning of the day, so JLBJH will open the show and play for at least one hour.

All shows will be seated. Tickets go on sale today, February 3rd, and the ticket price will be £22.00, although some venues may charge additional booking fees.

No other dates will be added to the UK tour.




Once Again Double Vinyl LP

A limited edition double vinyl LP of BJH's Once Again is released on February 10th, on the "Prog Classics" label. The audiophile 180 gram pressing includes all of the bonus tracks from the 2002 remastered CD, as follows:
